HICAP

Santa Cruz County has the good fortune to have a Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) Center in Santa Cruz at 1777-A Capitola Road, telephone (831) 462-5510. HICAP provides free community education and unbiased confidential individual Medicare benefits information. Volunteer counselors provide one hour of free counseling and additional time for a small fee. HICAP counselors are not connected to any insurance company or health plan.

They do not sell, endorse, or recommend insurance or related products to members. HICAP counselors assist members with comparing, choosing and enrollment in Prescription Drug Plans and Medicare Health Plans, filing Medicare claims, providing hep lp with Medicare appeals, and many other services.
